Production Specialist

PetSmart currently has on opening at our northwest facility for a Production Specialist.  The responsibilities include managing the production process for PetSmart?s in-store sign program. Responsibilities include scheduling, proofing, liaison between merchandising, marketing, creative and attends press checks as needed. Also manages sign kit versions and quality control of printed pieces. Arranges and attends meetings as required.

Creates sign kits schedules, monitors costs, alerts customer of budget issues and oversees completion into finished form.



Works with vendor(s), monitors deadlines, coordinates changes between PetSmart and supplier, insures kit versioning is accurate and supplied to all parties in a timely manner.



Must be able to work under pressure and problem solve in a fast pace environment. Must be an independent thinker and analyze situations quickly, providing appropriate course of action.



Attends meetings between real estate, merchandising and operations to ensure all elements of the sign kit have been addressed (i.e. hardware issues, store remodels, Eagle II, etc.)



Provides information to the Print Production Manager regarding schedules and changes. Provides status updates throughout the production process.



Monitors and communicates to the Print Production Manager any issues as they occur that may delay the production process (i.e. late turn-in, incomplete turn-in, etc.)



Ensures changes on proofs are communicated effectively to the print supplier, and that corrections are re-routed to PetSmart for final approval.



Keeps up-to-date on the print and paper industries (i.e. new technologies, substrate alternatives, etc.).

 

Education and/or Experience



Bachelor?s degree from a four-year college or university in graphic arts, print management or related field; and 3-5 years related experience in print production or customer service; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
