Publishing Product Manager

Advanced Marketing Services, Inc., a leading global provider of customized wholesaling and distribution services to book retailers and publishers, is seeking a Product Manager. AMS provides a full range of value-added services that provide its retail customers with book buying advice and expert supply chain management, including custom publishing and promotional support, to ensure the success of their book programs.  Advantage Publishers Group (APG) serves as the international product development and publishing division of AMS, specializing in adult trade, promotional, and juvenile books. Under the direction of the General Merchandising Manager and the Associate Publisher, this position  helps acquire, allocate, market and sell Thunder Bay titles.  Responsibilities include day-to-day management of inventory in both AMS and Publishers Group West (PGW) warehouses, disseminating product information to PGW, APG Marketing and APG Editorial department, and acting as the day-to-day liaison with active publishers, co-edition partners and packagers.

 

The successful candidate will be extremely detail oriented and have the ability to recall information quickly and demonstrate problem solving while displaying outstanding customer service skills.  Must be an effective communicator to be able to interface with internal and external customers. College degree or equivalent business experience is required. At least 2 years publishing related experience is preferred.
