Buyer/Planner

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing the Suppliers and the part numbers assigned to them.  Experience in procuring various types of electronics parts, PCB?s, metal and injection molded items.  Planning the pipeline of inventory by placing purchase orders, while achieving specific inventory objectives, within a constantly changing forecast.  Candidate must have experience in procuring electronic components utilizing an MRP requisitioning system.  Expediting critical requirements, encompasses:  checking the possibility of using alternate parts.  The use of alternate parts will require coordination with the Master Scheduler, the Engineering Planners, the Design Engineers, and the submittal of data sheets/specifications from Suppliers/Manufacturers.  Work issues involving obsolete, end-of-life parts, and deplete ECO?s.  Resolve receiving discrepancies, invoice discrepancies, and quality issues.  Quality issues will involve coordinating disposition of NMR?s and making recommendations for Part Number Changes to the item Master. 

 

Requirements:

5 years experience in related field.  Ability to work in a fast paced environment.  Transaction driven.  Good communication and organizational skills.  Proficient computer skills.  Ability to handle crisis situations.  Ability to work well without direct supervision.  ISM or APICS certification a plus. 

 

Preferred Education:

Bachelor?s degree preferred
