Purchasing Assistant ( Bakersfield )

 

 

Position Summary:

 

The successful candidate will assist the Purchasing Agent with the management and implementation of contracting vendors for home construction.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain AS400 system for purchase order entryObtain invoice approvals for payment Track invoices in ExcelCommunicate daily with vendorsPrepare start orders for vendor base pricingCreate contracts, change orders and addendums for all unitsMaintain accuracy of contract information Review and log vendor invoices for inclusion in monthly check runsCoordinate invoices to contract files for specific phases and units

 

 

Qualifications / Experience:

Qualified candidates will have at least 1 year of experience in Accounting and/or Purchasing. Accounts payable, a plus.

 

 

Skills & Abilities:Strong knowledge of all MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.  Strong communication skills Outstanding organization and time management skillsAbility to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentAbility to plan, coordinate and meet project deadlines
