Commercial Title Officer-Downtown Phx

Commercial Title Officer Responsibilities Examine and determine status of titles in accordance with company and local examining procedures

Abstract and analyze deeds of trust and mortgages, easements, judgments, tax assessments, and mineral reservations

Compile preliminary report from searched data and forward to underwriting department

Respond to requests from company employees, attorneys, and the general public

File unrecorded documents, ensuring fees are correct and documents are properly recorded

Compile information from city, county, and other public records and update company files, logs, and indexes

May train lower level employees in searching or examining

Minimum Qualifications


Ability to perform short-term tasks requiring detail, concentration, and accuracy

Ability to locate, compile, and interpret information affecting status of title to real property

Ability to work effectively with others and meet deadlines

Ability to perform tasks requiring some physical exertion

Ability to operate a personal computer and use Microsoft Office software and Internet Explorer

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

High school diploma with five years of experience in any combination of searching, abstracting, underwriting and title examination including commercial property titles, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
