Description TheResearch Coordinator conducts research and coordinates information gathering for the Area Business Development team within Ernst & Young. He/she prepares reports and summaries for such activities as market sizing and segmentation, revenue analysis, customer profiling, product targeting and database maintenance and support.

Responsibilities
Perform research to develop client lists in a given industry or geographic market and to identify industry trends.

Conduct research and analysis on a wide range of topics including company executives, financial information, annual reports, press releases and other related news items in support of active pursuits. May create and provide reports to Business Development leadership related to research findings.

Perform a cross-reference check on company Board of Directors across Area-wide pursuits.

Monitor changes in company boards and audit committees and prepare reports for Area leadership.

Work with our internal knowledge management group to coordinate and prepare more complex and detailed reports as required by Area Business Development leadership.

Provide a summary of market share for the firm and its competitors. Such analysis may contain total number of companies and total revenue for each company; may also include organizations in the local market as well as Fortune 1000 corporations.

Network/coordinate with the firms Center for Business Knowledge (CBK) for advanced research or analysis needs.

Database maintenance and support activities will include monitoring, training and reporting for lotus notes CRM database.

Demonstrate an understanding and application of research principles and practices. Rely on others in the operations group they are supporting at the time for decisions.

Receive direct supervision and review of work at frequent intervals.

Qualifications

To qualify, candidates must have:

a bachelors degree or equivalent experience
*
approximately 3-5 years of experience
*
analytical and organizational skills
*
the ability to coordinate multiple projects at one time
*
demonstrated project management experience
*
an understanding of account management processes
*
proficiency in major research products and services (e.g., Dow Jones Interactive, Lexis-Nexis, Dialog, SDC), as well as business-oriented CD-ROM and internet products
*
proficiency in MS Office, including MSAccessand Excel

As this position involves preparing materials for clients, long hours are occasionally required.
