The candidate will join a research team to develop new devices based on the company?s innovative materials or techniques. Your responsibilities are:Mechanical design of new technology and new products. Create thorough designs, documents and drawings with sufficient accuracy to support marketing specifications and regulatory requirements. Investigate and select mechanical components, assemblies and materials. The goal is to achieve low material and labor cost with good performance under required testing environment and with desired reliability. Serve as key technical member in prototype design and manufacture from concept to final testing. Design process necessary to transfer prototype product module to manufacturing. Provide technical design specifications. Solve manufacturing issues. Make independent studies, analyses, interpretations, conclusions and decisions in the evaluation and resolution of product performance issues. Collect information from throughout the relevant industry or academy on cost tradeoffs, and design constraints. Coordinate with team members to determine the worthiness of new technologies and products. Carry out varied engineering assignments, requiring general familiarity with a broad field of engineering, plus knowledge of other fields, such as electronics and optics.

 

Requirement:MS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related technical discipline or equivalent knowledge).  Minimum 3 year working experience on the mechanical design of commercial devices or instruments. Preferred previous work experience includes: system engineering experience in a development or manufacturing environment, experience in building power distribution facilities, such as photovoltaic module assemblies or related assembly manufacturing processes. Experience using CAD software to develop design layout and detail drawings. Familiar with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) or simulation/analysis based on data analysis software such as Matlab. Thorough understanding of structure dynamics and familiarity with structural materials to give robust mechanical designs necessary for device development. Knowledgeable on cost estimating techniques for manufacturing and volume production. Familiar with basic electrical design, knowledgeable on optics. Strong oral and written communication skills including specification development. Must be able to work independently, have strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills and be detail oriented. Must be capable of handling multiple tasksMust be able to work in a team environment. Must be cooperative with team members, willing to assist in other areas when and where necessary
