Software Engineer
Nokia offers internationalized email and synchronization solutions for wireless carriers as well as enterprises, large and small. Targeted device platforms include Windows, Windows CE (Pocket PC and Smartphone), Palm OS, Symbian, J2ME and Brew.
This is a software development position working on the BREW platform. A wide variety of technologies are used including TCP/IP communications, SSL, IMAP, POP, SMTP and UI design. This person will work within a team of engineers focused on our Consumer and Enterprise Email products which provides client-based email products that connect to Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino, and IMAP/POP3 servers over wireless networks. The position is based out of the Solano Beach, California site.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Computer Science, Computer Engineering or 4-year degree.
Over 4 years hands-on experience as a software developer.
Over 2 years hands-on C/C++ and BREW experience.
Specific expertise with at least a few of the following: TCP/IP communications, SSL, IMAP, POP, SMTP and UI design.
Ability to multitask and support multiple projects with hard deadlines.
Ability to write documentation and present effectively to small technical groups.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with internalization of applications
Experience with other PDAs and/or phone operating systems including Palm OS, Windows CE, and J2ME.
