Background: This position is in the Retail Experience Network, reporting to the Sales Manager of LA Retail Center.  This division is a combination of over 100 facilities across the United States that work together as one integrated unit to bring our retail customers the products they want and need. We deal with creative and structural design, primary packages, POP displays, display shippers, pack-out / fulfillment, logistics, merchandising, turnkey solutions and project management.  We're not just in the packaging or display business.  We deal in innovative designs that make products stand up against competition and create persuasive merchandising that builds brand equity.  We provide turnkey solutions that streamline development and increase customer sales. 


Key Functions: The Retail Center team of sales executives plays a critical role in the success of the organization by selling the products and services that drive all other activity. Sales executives are expected to safely and successfully perform the function of selling retail related packaging and display products and services in the marketplace to achieve planned sales objectives and satisfy customer needs. They must analyze and meet all customer requirements including scheduling, quality, design and resolve customer problems while maintaining account profitability and production efficiency. The primary focus of the Sales Executive is the sale of turnkey retail services. Turnkey products and services include creative design services, temporary and permanent displays, contract packaging/assembly services, and logistics services. Retail Account Executives will work closely with the other sales teams to expand Weyerhaeuser's offerings to existing customers, as well as seek new customer opportunities for its Containerboard Packaging & Recycling Business. This is a position for someone who thrives on opening new business.

The following qualifications are REQUIRED:

 
Three to five years of Point-Of-Purchase displays sales or in-store merchandising experience.
Knowledge of retail trends and off-shelf merchandising.
Professional sales skills to support the selling of the value-added retail packaging products and services.
Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of functional areas (sales, marketing, logistics, etc.) within our customers organizations, primarily directed at the selling of their products to the retail marketplace.
Proven track record to deliver solutions on a quick-time basis, providing a speed to market advantage relative to our competition.
Strong ability to make decisions quickly with good follow through skills.
Demonstrated ability to remain flexible and adapt to the situation and provide either leadership or follow instructions and work independently.
Excellent negotiation skills dealing with customers.  Ability to close.
Demonstrated ability to handle pressure, stress, rejection and work overtime or irregular hours.
Professional manner with excellent interpersonal and communication.
Ability to handle details accurately and in a timely manner.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.

 The following qualifications are PREFERRED:
Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Knowledge of consumer products and the corrugated industry, including packaging designs (characteristics and specifications), pricing and costing practices, quality processes and printing.
Knowledge of local marketplace.
