This position is an intermediate level sales position responsible for increasing sales through the Independent Agency channel. Prospects and appoints new agents, manages agent behavior to increase product sales, builds relationships with key accounts, and manages key initiatives within assigned territory.

SCOPE:
Utilizes sales skills and product knowledge. The territory sales manager will be responsible for approximately 200 agencies throughout Phoenix and Eastern AZ. Focuses on medium to higher potential agencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
80%
- Initiates agent visits; advises on products to meet consumer needs and agency goals. Consults on operating costs, profitability, revenue and technology. Provides agent/CSR training.
20%
- Identifies high potential/at risk agents
- Attends functions to promote Progressive.
- Plans each day to maximize outcomes
-Manages agent and competitor data collection. Accurately documents calls after sales call is completed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
-Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
-3 -5 years solid sales experience;(B2B sales experience preferred)
- Ability to work independently and be a self starter in a fast paced environment
-Plans each day to maximize outcomes
-Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills

Working Conditions
- 85% of time in the field
- Overnight travel will be for required 4-6 nights every month
