Outside Sales Representative Trainee

Ram Tool and Supply Company is the largest specialty commercial construction supply distributorship in the Southeast, selling over 12,000 construction related products, from beginning to end of project, to its primary customer base of general contractors and subcontractors.

 

An exciting opportunity exists to join our team as the Outside Sales Representative of one of our 18 branches.  Training will take place in Birmingham with branch reassignment to follow. 

 

Primary Responsibilities of an outside salesperson include:

1) Cultivating new business and customers through job-site and office calls to superintendents, project managers, and estimators.

2) Maintaining and growing existing business and customers through job-site and office calls to superintendents, project managers, and estimators.

 

Standard day would include 15 - 20 customer calls primarily to construction jobsites, and secondarily to construction offices, focusing on selling the construction products needed at each stage of the project.

 

Industry experience is not a prerequisite for the job; however, at least 2 years of general sales experience is strongly preferred

 

Compensation will begin as salary and will move to straight commission over time.
