Animal Husbandry Technician

Under direction, the Animal Husbandry person will provide basic custodial and animal husbandry care (feed, water, and clean cages and animal rooms on a scheduled basis) as well as daily observation and examination of animals for signs of illness, injury, and or behavioral changes. This position will work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.

Candidates must have no known allergies and the ability to perform repetitive motions with arms, wrists, and hands. The selected Technician will need experience in basic husbandry and the handling of rodents (mice). The Technician must have the ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and team-oriented. Preferred qualifications include: AALAS certification at the ALAT or LAT level.
