Cultural Resources Specialist (2 Positions Available)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position entails cultural resources project participation: records searches, archaeological surveys, testing and data recovery/mitigation, artifact analysis, artifact preparation, laboratory analysis, report preparation and writing
Will participate in proposal preparation
Supervision of archaeological field crews
Candidate should possess strong time management and organizational skills and be capable of working with minimal supervision on multiple, simultaneous tasks.
Excellent writing, editorial, and communication skills are essential.

QUALIFICATIONS:
MA in Anthropology with an emphasis on archaeology
Experience documenting, recording and researching prehistoric and historic resources in California (Central Coast and Southern CA preferred) and the Far West
Experience working on and supervising Phase I, II and III investigations
Candidate will have strong knowledge and experience in the requirements of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Officers
Evaluation of the significance of sites
Experience writing National Register of Histroic Places nominations
A working knowledge and ongoing practice statical analysis
Prefer a cadidate with working knowledge of scientific equipement (e,g,.GOS) used in field research; knowledge if database management (Microsft Access and Excel), and Geographic Information System (GIS) software.
Experience consulting with state and federal historic preservation laws required
Experience related to NEPA (EAs and EISs) and CEQA (Initial Studies, Negative Declarations, and EIRs) documentaion efforts would be helpful
Experience in environmental consulting industry is preferable
