MWH Laboratories is seeking qualified applicants for an Organic Chemist in the Extraction department for the Monrovia, CA office.

Liquid-liquid extraction and/or Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) following established EPA and Standard Methods protocols. Must be able follow strict QA/QC requirements and policies. Assist other Extraction Chemists with various organic prep methods. General laboratory duties including setting up extraction apparatuses, sample extraction, sample concentration, standard and reagent preparation, documentation, data entry, and cleaning and maintaining the lab and equipment.

Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for daily production, quality assurance, and reporting of data.
2. Review analytical data to ensure they meet established criteria prior to reporting results into LIMS.
3. Maintain laboratory documentation related to analysis and training.
4. Ability to communicate with other chemists, project managers, QA Officer and other personnel and to work in a safe manner by following MWH Laboratories health and safety guidelines and policies.
5. Perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments according to manufacturer's specifications and laboratory standard operating procedures.
6. Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.

Minimum AS in Physical Science, Chemical Technology required; BA/BS in Chemistry or equivalent education/experience is highly desirable. Good communication skills and strong organizational skills and able to work under time constraints. Must be familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word.
