Laboratory Technician
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under direct and constant supervision of a licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist, the Laboratory Technician will assist in the performance of duties as outlined in the California Business and Professions Code, Chapter 3, Clinical Laboratory Technology, Article 4, Section 1269. Duties include assisting in the performance of preventive maintenance and troubleshooting, assisting in the preparation and storage of reagents and culture media, assisting with the performance of quality control, performance of specimen labeling, handling, preservation, processing or preparation, and specimen storing, and other routine administrative duties as assigned by the Laboratory Department Supervisor/Manager.
Shifts available
Monday ? Friday: 40 hours per week (5 positions)
Tuesday ? Saturday: 40 hours per week (2 positions)
** Weekend work may be required
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Requires minimum of the following combinations
High School diploma and 2?4 years of previous laboratory experience, or
Associate of Art degree and 1?2 years of previous laboratory experience, or
Bachelor of Science and 0 year of previous laboratory experience.
Receives general instructions on routine work, general instructions on new assignments.
