Mgr., Toxicology and InVitro

NAMSA, the world leading company specializing in the safety evaluation of medical devices, is expanding and has a job opening for a Toxicology/InVitro Mgr. in our Irvine facility:

We are looking for someone who will plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of two departments in our Irvine location.? Annual sales of the combined departments are in the $2.5 to $4.0 million range. This individual will have financial responsibility for both departments and will also manage direct reports within both departments.? The position requires excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and productive working relationships with study directors, scientists, and other professionals.? Additional responsibilities include working with Sales for revenue growth and with clients to achieve exemplary customer service.??

This dynamic individual will maintain qualified staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.? Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards; adhering to legal regulations. Establishes department goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information; identifying and evaluating trends and options; choosing a course of action; defining objectives; evaluating outcomes. Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. Maintains quality by enforcing customer service and regulatory standards; analyzes and resolves internal and/or external customer service and regulatory problems; identifies trends; recommends customer service and regulatory improvements. Assure that the department adheres to, supports, and implements all corporate policies. Assures compliance with applicable requirements of ISO 9000, AAALAC, IACUC, FDA, USDA, DEA, OSHA and local health agencies. Maintains confidentiality in accordance with NAMSA confidentiality agreement and performs other duties as directed.

The individual will also be responsible for developing and achieving team and personal growth opportunities in coordination with the Operations Manager and other managers within the organization.

Requirements include a minimum of a Bachelor?s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent. As well as 5 years related experience including 2 years supervisory experience and a demonstrated? working knowledge of budget management.??
