Position Summary:
The Principal Scientist - Combat Insect Control R&D is a staff scientist position responsible for providing company expertise in insect control products supporting Combat business plans. This individual identifies and assesses technical problems associated with and provides recommendations to management for solutions to these problems.  The Principal Scientist independently develops, recommends, and executes functional approaches to support key Combat product initiatives and business strategy and develops new insecticide products or technologies that meet product performance, quality and timing requirements.  This individual also conducts product stability and efficacy testing of developed products.  Finally, this individual identifies, recommends, and implements improved processes for conducting lab and pilot plant work, fully understands product development and business processes, and EPA/GLP regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities:


Develop and execute new methodologies and broad technical programs including well-designed experiments, data generation, analysis, and interpretation supporting the Combat R&D program

Prepare and test (stability/efficacy) Combat product test samples
Support Combat pilot plant scale up test runs

Interface with Corporate Entomologist regarding Combat Insect Care Unit (CICU) activities including insect rearing and testing

Conduct GLP studies supporting product improvement projects and new product launches

Develops formula and process documentation for product BOMs

Work with Combat R&D team to manage inventory of on-site laboratory and pilot plant raw materials and supplies


Requirements:


Master?s or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field - preferred

10 yrs of experience minimum with insecticide products for retail or professional market

Strong communication skills

Strong computer skills (Microsoft pkg - Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Statistical packages, etc.)

Extensive laboratory and pilot plant equipment experience
