Research Leader in Renewable Energy

Tata Chemicals Ltd. Is India ’s largest producer of inorganic chemicals and is in the soda ash, salt, marine chemicals, cement and fertilizers businesses. As part of its long term strategy towards becoming a green company operating in sustainable and innovative businesses, Tata Chemicals created the Innovation Centre to carry out cutting edge research in new emerging areas such as nanotechnology and biotechnology. Currently based in Pune, a state-of-the-art laboratory with pilot plant facilities is being constructed in Hyderabad to house the Innovation Centre that is expected to be operational by mid 2007. Tata Chemicals is now looking to hire highly accomplished scientists and engineers to man key positions in the Innovation Centre.

 

Qualifications : The scientist/engineer should be a Ph.D. in Physics/Chemistry/Materials Science/Biotechnology/Chemical Engineering with 10-12 years research experience in any of the following areas : solar energy, biofuels, fuel cells, bio-hydrogen generation. The candidate should have led interdisciplinary research teams and possess an outstanding track record of publications and patents.

 

Job requirement : The candidate would be expected to interface with the management and participate in defining the strategy of the Innovation Centre in area of expertise. Building, nurturing and mentoring talent, creating high quality benchmarks for research, interfacing with existing businesses in the Company, departments in the Innovation Centre, Government Departments and Academic Institutes would be key responsibilities. The candidate would be expected to identify and develop projects with business potential and define the thrust of the department.
