Scientist (Diagnostics)

POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

Responsible for initiating, directing, and executing scientific research for the company.  Research will focus on product transfer from R & D to the manufacturing division, product and process improvements, and troubleshooting both internal and external customer issues.  Responsible for maintaining a laboratory notebook and effectively communicating scientific findings and technical issues both verbally and in writing.  May supervise lab technicians as appropriate.  Support all applicable regulations including, but not limited to FDA, ISO, and CMD/CAS requirements.

 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Requires a Ph.D. in immunology or related field.  Expertise in immunodiagnostic assays (ELISAs, IFAs, and Multiplex bead arrays) and cell culture is highly desirable, 0?2 years experience at the Ph.D. level in a research, technical support, and/or development environment. Post-doctoral work may serve as experience. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.  Exercises judgment across multiple disciplines in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.  Demonstrates success in technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought.  Expert knowledge of scientific principles and concepts. Demonstrates sustained performance and accomplishment.  May determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to other personnel.
