Import/Export Clerk

American Sporting Goods is seeking an Import/Export Clerk to support our Logistics department.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

q Track container delivery with overseas branch offices on a daily basis to insure shipping documents are submitted in a timely manner.

q Facilitate and direct consolidation for shipments to ROW, EU, CN and US as appropriate

q Review and input shipping data on container tracking form daily

q Update shipping information as changes dictate

q Update SO/Customer PO/Shipping windows for all direct ships

q Distribute shipping spreadsheet to the direct ship customers on a weekly basis

q Check shipping documents and send rated invoice for broker to file Custom entry on time

q Set up duty rate and HTS # for new styles

q Review inland freight charges before sending to Accounting for payment

q Audit shipping records against DC receiving report if discrepancies exist

q Revise and correct duty entry with warehouse receiving report

q Prepare monthly and quarterly report to US Customs for duty changes resulting from quantity discrepancies

q Input data based on information provided to import program to gain the release of imported products from US Customs

q Randomly audit Custom entries per rules established by US Customs

q Perform Duty drawback on re-exported product

q Prepare and process claims for defective cargos or damaged goods.

q Communicate with US Customs, Freight Forwarders, Transportation Companies and Customs Brokers to resolve any documentation issues, shipping problems or delays encountered

q Review Customs documentation for accuracy and timely filing with various government agencies

 

REQUIREMENTS:

q Good computer and language skills required as well as a working knowledge of Word and Excel software

q Experience in Customs entry processing preferred

q Ability to multi task
