Manager, VMI

Position Description:

Responsibilities:
? Work closely with department VP to develop, set and implement strategic priorities for the VMI and Supply Chain functions of the department.
? Support, Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) account teams through retail inventory management activities to maximize sales performance and productivity at retail while maintaining the highest operational standards for turns, in-stocks, returns, etc. - both as a hands-on and as a manager/leader member of the department.
? Oversee title life cycle, from new release fixtures to regular planograms.
? Coordinate all reset processes, including but not limited to verifying planograms and store traits, providing order forecasts, selling down deleted titles, and creating the reset order.
? Maintain store level traits and title swap outs.
? Oversee and run replenishment orders on a daily basis.
? Work closely with distribution department in managing orders and priorities.
? Verify and post physical inventories to VMI system.
? Develop relationships with buyers and planners at VMI accounts.
? Support the system integration and transition to the new VMI platform utilizing Demantra, Intactix and JDE. Work closely with IT department for VMI system improvements and enhancements.
? Develop forecasts and initial placement recommendations based on comparable titles sales performance, adjusted for various factors including seasonality and box office and other related information. These are developed at the store/item level and summarized through chain and title/promotion levels.
? Create and run exception reports for managing forecasts, in-stocks, returns, etc.
? Forecast single unit and corrugate needs 6 months in advance of street date.
? Forecast initial back-up replenishment estimates at pre-street by format and security type, and then develop post-street replenishment estimates based on sales following release.
? Work with outside information sources (e.g., Retail Link, ACNielsen, Market Navigator, etc.) to improve sales and inventory performance.


Requirements:
? Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
? 5+ years experience, preferably in the home entertainment industry.
? Proven leadership skills
? Strong quantitative and analytical skills and problem solving abilities. Ability to generalize based on reasonable samples for given business situations.
? Ability to work effectively in a team environment without constant supervision.
? Strong follow-through and prioritization skills, excellent communication skills, strong initiative and sense of urgency.
? Proficient in Word and Excel, including ability to use macros, look-up tables and file conversions. Working knowledge of PowerPoint helpful.
? Conceptual and working knowledge of database and data warehouse systems. Experienced using database software (e.g., Access) and OLAP tools (e.g., Business Objects or Micro-Strategy) a plus.
