Production Planner/Sr. Production Planner

Key Requirements: 

Bachelor`s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university.  5-10 yrs experience in demand

planning, forecasting, supply chain programs, & manufacturing is required along with strong knowledge of MRP planning

systems. Strong understanding of capacity planning & methodologies. Excellent communication, organizational, & problem

solving skills are essential. Advanced proficiency in Excel & Access required.

 

Plusses: 

APICS certification a plus.

 

Job Description: 

Plan & prepare production schedules for assigned products. Work with Plant Manager & Scheduler in machine loading & job sequencing to enable manufacturing to meet production requirements & maintain customer service levels. Works with the Plant Manager and Scheduler in Capacity Requirements Planning.  Assure manufacturing lead-time control, accuracy & reliability. Draw up manufacturing method master schedule to establish sequence & lead-time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.  Analyze production specs & plant capacity data & perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resources requirements. Plan & schedule work flow for department operations according to established manufacturing sequences & lead times.  Maintains job related data and reports.  Works to improve systems, tools, automation, and procedures in the Planning and Scheduling areas.  Provides other departments with production completion forecasts when required.  Responsible for raw material and work in process availability to meet expected demand.
