Position: Sourcing Manager, Direct Materials 

Location:  Camarillo

 

EDUCATION

? Bachelors degree required; MBA desirable, with 3-5 years experience.

? Professional Purchasing Qualification preferred (CPM desirable)

 EXPERIENCE

Professional Purchasing experience at a middle level (ideally with multi national business) with track record of increasing responsibilities. Significant supply chain management experience in Direct Materials.

 

 Management ability to lead Cross Functional Teams.  Strong project management mindset.

 

Strong contract development and ability to interface well with Legal resources.  Change management experience.  Sees self as a Change Agent

 

 Effective utilization of systems including all Microsoft Office tools and SAP or equivalent.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB PURPOSE

The strategic management of selected Direct Materials (including labels, ribbons, sale of scrap, printing, other misc.) across the Technicolor business in North America to ensure maximum leverage on suppliers and optimum costs.

? Direct purchases (Production Parts).  Management of the business Sourcing issues at all levels.

? Accountable to manage and deliver cost reductions to pre set targets. Including responsibility for the management of the cost base and usage of cost reduction tools

? Develop with all functions and client groups including Sales, R&D, HR, Finance, Facilities, IT and Engineering key working relationship leading to early supplier design input and product commonality.

? Challenge current thinking and in conjunction with client groups implement breakthrough opportunities on assigned commodities.

? Deliver supplier and quality improvements (including supplier on time performance and supplier rationalization), to preset targets. Includes key supplier development.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

? The development of business Sourcing plans to meet year targets. Deliver against Business Balanced Scorecard.

? Optimum use of supplier base through work with Operations, Engineering, R&D, Purchasing and other key interface clients/functions

? World Class supplier base through development and management of innovative control and improvement techniques with key strategic suppliers.

? High tactical supplier performance through implementation and management of supplier measurement techniques.  ? Product growth opportunities through enhanced supplier knowledge and awareness.

? Maximum business profitability through development of strategic sourcing plans; building and maintaining strong business relationships with key personnel.

CHALLENGE

? The successful driving and management of major change in the businesses.  Influencing ability to focus local businesses on a common supplier approach

? Relationship capability to manage diverse suppliers at senior level.  Knowledge of contracts and legal aspects of purchasing.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

? Sourcing Managers & Director.  Managing Directors/General Managers of key Suppliers: Negotiate and manage the overall (often complex), relationships

? Appropriate Divisional Operational, General Manager and Directors. Sharing information and ideas / joint initiatives. Update regularly.

? Peers: Liaise and ensure optimum links to Sourcing offices/ Global Supply Managers and Project Managers.

 

? Strong ability to influence decisions at all levels.  Creative thinker and strong orientation toward utilizing innovation to resolve challenges.

? Can do approach required.  Collaborative style and Team Orientation a must.  Self starter not requiring supervision.

? Outstanding external and internal communication skills.
