Supervisor Field Operations

Kitty Hawk has an immediate opening for a Station Supervisor in Los Angeles.  The position includes: supervising, coordinating, and controlling the activities of personnel; and engages in fulfilling Company, customer and contractual requirements by:
* Ensuring work is progressing according to contract requirements and in compliance with established standard for quality and quantity;
* Training and/or arranging for training of employees in performance of assigned duties;
* Supervising employees in accordance with current labor agreements and customer contracts;
* Coordinating activities of assigned group with other staff and customers relative to specifications, changes, modifications, costs and quality assurance;
* Analyzing and recommending methods, procedures, and techniques to improve operations;
* Monitoring adherence to good housekeeping, safety regulations and taking appropriate corrective actions to correct unsafe work practices or hazardous situations;
* Maintaining various records and preparing routine and special reports as required;
* Supervise daily hub operations including warehouse handlers, loading/unloading of trucks and/or aircraft;
* Performing other duties, which may be deemed necessary by management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Associate?s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred. Six months to one year related experience and/or training. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and be able to handle stress. Must have a valid driver's license. Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays and days off.  Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.  Must be able to tolerate a work environment with moderate noise levels, fluctuating temperatures, dust, jet fumes, and toxic chemicals.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine memos, correspondence, and reports legibly as required.
Ability to speak effectively in one-on-one situations, small group situations before customers or Company Team Members.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  This includes the ability to compute discounts and percentages.
Some travel is required.
Working knowledge of basic computer technology, telephone and calculator. 
Ability to balance, bend, climb up/down, crawl, crouch, hear, kneel, reach, stoop, turn, twist, walk.
Report to work on a regular and timely basis.
