Design Engineer

Position Summary 

 

You will join a Specialist Technical Services team working on Design, Development & Consultancy of advanced applications.

 

The successful candidate will undertake a specialist role for the technical design and strategy of Avaya voice networks, and the candidate will also take a lead in introducing new Avaya technologies into Spenser?s Avaya MultiVantage portfolio. You will design and integrate the Avaya product suite (including Communications Manager and Modular Messaging) into multi-vendor voice & data networks as well as with other telephony technologies (predictive dialers, IVR etc).

 

Your responsibilities within this specific technology area will include:

?  Pre-sales Support

?  Provide Technical Design & Assurance

?  Develop Technical Strategy

?  Technical Consultancy

?  Price Implementation and  Professional Services

 

With an impressive career history and with relevant experience probably gained within an IT Services / Consultancy / Systems Integration environment, the successful candidate will certainly have:

 

?  Essential - strong experience and knowledge of the Avaya IP Telephony product suite including ACM and MultiVantage

?  Essential ? 2-5 years broad experience of telephony systems including ACD functionality and MIS reporting tools.

?  Essential - IPT Design experience.

?  The ability to understand customer requirements and convert these into technical solutions

?  The ability to articulate a proposed solution to the customer and demonstrate the business, financial and technical benefits of the design

?  Skilled in the production of technical documentation and high impact presentations (often within short lead times).

?  Knowledge of any of the following is highly desirable: CMS, Conversant IVR systems and Predictive Dialer System

?  Data Networking ? LAN/WAN design experience ? some experience in this desirable.

?  Also preferable is experience in data networking technologies and protocols with knowledge of CISCO data networking products.

 The ability to communicate effectively with technical and business contacts at all levels, both internally and within customer and partner organizations is essential. Your place of work will be negotiable, though there will be a requirement to travel to customer sites
