Director, Broadband Service Management (02349)

We are a developer and provider of high-performance broadband customer-premises networking equipment and carrier-class software for the remote management of broadband services and equipment. We also develop and provide broadband-enabled services and remote-management software for enterprises' technical support, help desks, and personal computers.

 

The primary role of this position is to manage and provide technical leadership for the development of service management applications in Netopia Broadband Server (NBBS) software system.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

?  Management of design and development of service management applications in NBBS software system.

?  Build a technically skilled development team in multiple locations, both domestic and overseas in China.

?  Work closely with product management and solution architects to define the functionality and architecture of service management applications.

?  Responsible for the end-to-end project development life cycle, including budget, schedule, product features, and implementation; provide technical and project leadership to team on an ongoing basis and make trade-off based on technical and resource constraints.

?  Work with other function teams and serve as the champion to drive the improvement of end-to-end product development process, and incorporate process improvement into project execution.

?  Provide organization leadership to the service management team; build the team, mentor and empower employees to succeed and exceed.

?  Build strong relationship with customers; ensure customer satisfaction of service management products. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 12+ years of software development experience with 5+ years experience in technical management.Familiar with broadband access technologies: ADSL, VDSL, Wi-Fi, FTTx and DSL Forum TR-069 management standards.Familiar with next generation broadband services and applications such as VoIP, in-premise networking, IMS/SIP, IPTV services, hot spot services, etc. Knowledge of mobile services and mobile devices is a plus.Understand the importance of and is passionate about software development process. Have driven large software projects involving multiple development teams based on common release engineering strategy and common code base management.Project leadership and hands-on development experience in Server based Java development, Linux/Unix, network management system and transactional system development.Proven management skills to lead a multi-site team. Prior experience of building and managing an oversea team is highly desired. Strong people skills. Ability to communicate in Chinese/Mandarin is a plus.Knowledge of Security protocol such as SSL/TLS, Voucher, Digest Authentication, Java Security, and experience with WebLogic, Apache, Resin, PostgresSQL, Oracle, Solaris and ASP hosting environment will be a plus.
