Duties:

Regional Xng database lead - Provides technical leadership and subject matter expertise for the design, implementation, and support of the regional Xng database.
.Ensure adherence to network standards for database configurations.
.Act as second level technical support for regional Operations and Engineering groups.
.Provides ongoing training for Engineers and Associate Engineers and creates job aids to document internal practices and procedures.
.Administer Xng/worXng database for the Verizon Wireless Northern Calif. Region:
Maintain validation tables.
Maintain existing as well as control the addition of new UDAs.
Maintain existing as well as control the addition of new Queues in worXng.
Maintain existing worXng task and work order templates.
.Development of new workflow processes via worXng work order templates.
.Provide formal training and lead workgroups on changes in work flow processes.
.Develop custom automated reports on worXng and Xng database elements via InfoReports & custom queries.
.Develop custom reports to communicate data accuracy and project status.
.Administer Regional website containing custom Xng reporting.
.Proactively communicate status reports and issues to management.
.Represent Region on Area and Headquarters' Xng Projects.
.Provide leadership on ongoing data accuracy initiatives.
.Reconcile database errors identified by Regional & Headquarters reports.
.Participation in Facilities Engineering projects may be required. Responsibilities may include engineering and planning of new facilities, ASR entry, order tracking, and project management of implementation.

Qualifications:
.Four-year degree in EE or CS desired.
.Minimum 2 years Xpercom/Xng field experience desired.
.Minimum 2 years xperWorx/worXng experience desired.
.Experience with bulk loading Xpercom/Xng database via xperLoad or other systems.
.Minimum 2 years Transport/Telecom Facilities experience.
.Knowledge of cellular network and public service telephone network (PSTN).
.Four years experience with both voice and data wireless technologies preferred.
.Significant skill in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Access, which would include managing large amounts of data.
.Must possess excellent organizational skills, enabling smooth handoff to others when required.
.Understanding and user experience in Unix & Linux operating systems.
.In depth knowledge and advanced proficiency, recognized by peers as technical expert in one or more of the following platforms and/or technologies: -
Telecom Proficiencies: T1, DACS, OMP - Voice switch infrastructure including: Lucent 5E and ECP, Motorola MGX, and Nortel MTX - Digital Communications including: DS1, DS3, Fiber, ISDN - Data communications including: routers, switches, Ethernet, hubs, TCP/IP, ATM, Frame Relay, SS7 - Microwave experience including: Nortel RD6 & 11, NEC OC3 Series 3000 radios -
Test equipment Proficiencies: T-Birds, DataPro, pilot scanners, baseline equipment, spectrum analyzers.
Software Proficiencies: Lucent's Watchmark Prospect traffic data collection system; SQL programming experience; Ability to interpret and modify PERL scripts; Understanding of the Unix & Linux operating systems and basic commands; Proficient in MS Office programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
.Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while consistently meeting deadlines. Maintain performance level under varying degrees of pressure and uncertainty, and effectively dealing with situations for which few or no guidelines exist.
.Self-starter and capable of working independently.
.Strong technical, analytical, and project management skills.
.Strong communications skills, and demonstrated leadership ability.
.Strong problem solving abilities.
.Superior organizational and planning skills (setting and communicating priorities)
.Ability to work flexible hours and support night or weekend work as needed.
.Overnight travel may be required.
.Driver's license may be required.
