SALES ENGINEER

The Broadwing Sales Engineer position provides pre-sale design and engineering support for large and/or complex WAN and Voice/Voip/SIP opportunities for existing and prospective Fortune 1000 clients.  This position offers a unique opportunity to use your existing technical skills and advance those skills to create innovative customer network designs using our technically advanced service layer network architectures sitting atop the worlds only, award winning all optical DWDM backbone owned and operated exclusively by Broadwing.



Job Responsibilities

? Provides the sales team with expert technical support in the pre-sales process and creates compelling technical solutions for customers. 

? Translates and communicates complex technical design considerations between the sales team and prospective customers on sales calls and appointments.

? Evaluates, validates, creates diagrams, and presents the design of technical solutions to customers.

? Takes the lead in technical Q/A with prospects and customers. 

? Works with all levels of client organizations from Network Administrators to CEO’s.

? Works with internal groups to facilitate and validate their complex designs.

? Serves as resident technical expert on BRW products and services.

? Provides ongoing technical support to customers requiring scalability and growth in their network and consulting on CPE and configurations when needed

? Ensures the technical information and products sold support customer requirements and lead to successfully installed products and services.

? Provides technical sales training for branch and regional sales team.

 

Required Education and Experience

Four years of College resulting in a Bachelors Degree or equivalent.  A minimum of three to five years of advanced networking experience required.  Engineering skills in MPLS, IP, VoIP/SIP, Sonet, DWDM, Ethernet, Frame/ATM and Voice/Call Center applications. Technical sales skills, communication skills, presentation skills, strategic planning skills, LAN technology, WAN technology, customer premise hardware technology, technical network diagramming and design, Cisco, Juniper or other router and hardware configuration experience. CCDA/CCNA preferred but not required.
