Systems Technician

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  This individual will be responsible for installing and troubleshooting telephone systems, voicemail and cabling at customer locations throughout Central California.

 

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:  Include but are not limited to the following.

? Install business telephone and voicemail systems with a high standard of workmanship

? Perform software programming for telephone and voicemail systems

? Pull and terminate voice, data and video cable

? Troubleshoot and repair all types of telephone and voicemail systems

? Interpret and complete service requests in an efficient manner

? Provide customers with technical support and after-hours repair

? Communicate with all types of customers on a professional level

? Train users on the basic use of equipment after installation

? Complete all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner

? Interface with the sales department to successfully resolve customer issues

Education and/or Experience:

? High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) desirable; and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

? One year experience in installation of key systems and PBX required.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

? Must have valid California drivers license with a Class C license or higher.

? Must have at least three years driving experience with a valid California drivers license, Class C license or higher.

 

Skills and Abilities:

? Project a professional image

? Installation experience in the telecommunications industry is important

? Knowledge of Toshiba, Nortel and Mitel equipment is desirable

? Familiarity with the installation and programming of voicemail systems

? Able to function effectively under demanding conditions to meet deadlines

? Willingness to take after hours calls for out-of-service problems

? Ability to train customers on the use of their system

? Attention to quality and detail

? Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally

? Willingness to go above and beyond to provide exceptional customer service
