Enjoy the spectacular Monterey Bay Peninsula and our moderate climate by applying for the position of TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST with the County of Monterey. The Telecommunications Division of the Monterey County Information Technology Department has two positions available for Telecommunications Specialist. Applicants are encouraged to apply for the level(s) of the position they would like to pursue. Under general supervision, this position performs administrative tasks to maintain the County telecommunications system. Incumbent is responsible for performing the tasks necessary to administer the maintenance, changes, and billing of a modern County electronic/digital telecommunications system and confers with users to define needs and suggest solutions. Our ideal candidate will have three to five years administrative or technical experience with a telephone company or manufacturer with a minimum of six months to two years specialized training in the use of an ISDN digital telecommunications system; OR two to five years experience working with a digital PBX and two years experience in support of server based telecom applications; OR one to two years experience as an Ericsson certified customer service representative.
