Assistant Buyer - Ladies

Job Description : Stein Mart, Inc. is currently seeking an Assistant Buyer to join our busy Merchandising Division. This position interfaces with Buyers, Vendors and other Assistant Buyers, and provides an exciting opportunity for decision making, leadership, and business growth.

Job Summary:

- Assist in achieving financial objectives and merchandising procurement by selecting, purchasing, and promoting merchandise.

- Create relationships with vendors, manage markdowns, manage advertising and promotional process, and develop awareness of fashion trends.

- Contribute to seasonal planning, organize workflow and make informed decisions.

 

Requirements:

- Bachelors Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, Business, or related field and/or minimum of 2-5 years applicable retail work experience.

- Strong fashion sense and attention to detail with high degree of accuracy.

- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

- Demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with multiple levels/departments within the organization and vendor community.

- Proven computer skills with strong Excel preferred.
