Albany International Corp., a leading textile manufacturer has an immediate opening for a Product Development Engineer specializing in woven structures for our Forming Fabric operations located in Menasha, Wisconsin.

 

In this position, the successful candidate will work on a pilot loom in a lab environment to plan, prototype, develop, and commercialize new woven structures for paper machine forming fabrics.  This position is also responsible for recognizing the applicability of new, breakthrough technology to our core products.  This position will maintain close working relationships with our Product Engineering, Manufacturing and Research groups around the world.

 

The successful candidate possesses the following requirements:

- A Bachelor?s degree in Textile or Mechanical Engineering,

-  5 years of experience developing woven structures and the ability to manipulate weave patterns,

-  Demonstrated knowledge a loom?s inner workings and the ability to instruct others on setting-up and running a pilot loom leading to commercially viable products,

-  Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes,

-  Excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team,

-  Experience in paper manufacturing is a plus, and

-  Some domestic and international travel is required.
