Technical Design/Product Development

ITOCHU Prominent USA designs and manufactures men?s and women?s fabrics and finished garments for distribution to wholesalers and retailers.  The company sources and handles logistics of importing textiles for name-brand companies, including Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Nordstroms and The Gap, and handles licensing or distribution for J. Crew, Guess, Vivienne Tam, and Tommy Hilfiger.

 

We currently have several exciting career opportunities for Technical Design Associates and Product Development talent.

Technical Design Associate, Sweater:

    Responsibilities include:

-Obtaining approval for sweater design, such as embroidery, beads, print, layout, color, quality.

-Prepares production chart

-Collects feedback from customer on sweater technical design and provide this feedback to the vendors; daily correspondence with customers and vendors.

 

Job Requirements:

-Degree in design or related field and 5+ years of experience in a technical design role.  Experience working for an importer is a plus.  Bilingual Chinese is a major plus.

 

Technical Design Associate, Woven/Cut & Sewn:

Responsibilities include:

-Obtain patterns from customers and communicate information to our vendors.

-Obtain approval for fit and pre-production samples

-Daily correspondence between customers and vendors

 

Job Requirements:

-Degree in design or related field and 7+ years experience in technical design position. 

 

Product Development Coordinator, Woven:

Responsibilities include:

-Conducts market research to develop new fabric and garment.

-Present market research and recommendations to customer.

-Work on arranging proto samples to vendors and gather designers? comments on samples.

 

Job Requirements:

-Degree in design or related field and 5+ years experience in a product development role.
