The Opportunity

The Ritchie Bros. Statesville, North Carolina sale site has an immediate opening for a Yard Manager. The Yard Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the yard including team management, vendor and sub-contractor procurement and management, as well as the general organization of the yard to ensure the smooth operation of the Statesville location. 

 

The Requirements

We?re looking for a hands-on manager who is capable of effectively juggling many things at once!  In this role you?ll be supervising full and part-time yard staff, you?ll be the go-to person for the sales staff, vendors and on-site sub-contractors and for essentially everything to do with the organization of the yard and the auction sales. 

 

Our ideal candidate will have some experience managing or supervising multi-disciplinary teams and also some experience with or knowledge of industrial equipment, trucks and trailers.  You?ll also be organized, computer literate, and have excellent communication skills (on this job your most valuable tools will be the 2-way radio, a cell phone and a desk phone!).  This is an active job so you should be physically fit.  A valid driver?s license is a must-have for this position.  From time to time, when warranted, you may be required to get out into the yard and operate some of the equipment ? that?s one of the perks of this role! Travel to other Ritchie Bros. sale sites may be required on occasion and you should be available to work extra hours in the weeks leading up to each sale.
