Local Delivery Driver

Summary: Position requires the timely and safe deliveries of cylinders for efficient distribution of cylinder gases to customers.

 

Specific Job Duties:

? Loads truck. Assist with loading and unloading of truck/trailer as required or when loads are delayed.

? Drives truck to deliver gasses and hard goods to customer's place of business.

? Inform customers of new products or services.

? Listens to and forwards service complaints Branch Manager.

? Collects or picks up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise. 

? Cleans inside of truck. Performs routine maintenance checks on truck.

? Complies with all company policies and meets DOT requirements.

? Assure that the assigned truck/trailer is always properly placarded to meet DOT regulations.

? Coordinate work assignments with immediate supervisor to insure customer orders are met.

? Assure that pre-trip inspections are performed before leaving the property.

? Responsible for communications on all work stoppages, equipment failures, and significant work related problems to your immediate supervisor on a timely basis.

? Maintain adequate driving speeds, trip reports and logbooks as required by Airgas and DOT.

? Assure loads being handled do not exceed the forklift maximum load capacity.

? Must be able to identify potential problem cylinders and notify supervisor.

? Must be flexible to adjust work assignments based on operational requirements.

? Must be flexible to assume other work assignments as deemed appropriate by Supervisory Staff.

? Must be willing and flexible to work extended hours necessary to meet operational requirements

? Must be a Team Player, and demonstrate positive work behaviors and attitude conducive to the Airgas, Inc. philosophy.

 

Special Skills and Qualifications:

Computer literate, good writing and math skills, and demonstrate positive work behaviors to interact well with customers.
