Logistics Planner - Southeast Distribution Center

ROSS Stores, Inc., a Fortune 500 and Nasdaq 100 (ROST) company headquartered in Pleasanton, CA. is the nation's second largest off-price company with over 700 stores in 26 states and Guam.  ROSS Stores offer first-quality, name brand apparel, accessories, footwear and home fashions.  Our Southeast Distribution Center located in Fort Mill, SC. is currently seeking qualified individuals to fill the position of Logistics Planner. 

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:

 

This position will need the experience and ability to work with the International, Inbound and Outbound Store delivery teams. Cross functionality between these groups will be needed in order to be able to work and negotiate with carriers from all sectors.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

 

Contract Compliance Responsibility for systematic updates for new and existing contracts, modifications, changes and addendum?s theretoIn compliance with Federal Regulations and Sarbanes Oxley maintaining department files including Original Contracts, Certificates of Insurance, Certificates of Authority and Carrier Tariffs, Rates and Changes

 Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure all contracts, rates and charges remain current and are updated.

 

 

Systematic and AnalyticalDevelop systematic process for updating rates - Maintain files for outdated or cancelled rates for future audit and compliance.Maintain systematic Rates and Charges to ensure accurate data to Inbound/Outbound Logistics Operations and Freight Pay DepartmentsProvide analytical and product management support to Logistics Operations Group and other business required areas as needed.  This will be accomplished through analysis and execution of PC based programs and spreadsheets.Develop cost pricing analysis of carrier rates and charges compared to standard pricing for all carriers.Ensure Pool Providers are fully implemented in Ross systemsReview, analyze and correct problems with the shipping accuracy reportVerify all stores have the correct alignments. Make changes to alignments as needed.

 

 

Relationships and Decision MakingAbility to generate strong relationships and confidence with internal and external customersSupport the Inbound and Outbound teams in best carrier and routing decisions  Develop cross training schedule for self and team Make decisions on which claims are to be filed and the party responsible for the claim.  This applies to all shortages and/or damages on inbound shipments and shipments from distribution centers to our stores. Ensure that all claim are filed on a timely basis and follow-up procedures are being metPerform all projects as directed by Procurement Logistics ManagerTravel may be required

 



 

 

 

 

 

 



QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

Must have strong written and oral communications skillsHigh-Level working knowledge of Microsoft word, Excel, Access and Power PointHigh level analytical, and organizational skillsExperience working with Logistics and Transportation ContractsFour ? six years experience in Logistics and Transportation related fieldBachelor?s Degree or equivalent in work experience is preferredStrong self-motivation and the ability to work aggressively to complete projectsKnowledge of law related to Transportation Contracts preferred
