Track Worker
Description:
Installation of new track and maintenance of existing track. Requires physical and manual efforts with the assistance of power equipment where available to remove and replace track components (ties, rails, bars, etc.); unload and/or assist in the unloading of and distribution of track material including rails, ties, spikes, plates, joint bars, bolts and rail anchors; cut brush, and vegetation from right-of-way. Must be able to read, comprehend and follow regulations and rules such as safety rules, operating rules and FRA regulations. May have to work non-standard hours, which may include overtime during off-duty hours. Occasional variable shifts, including night shifts, weekends/holidays; must be able to work outdoors and to withstand extreme weather conditions; required to wear safety apparel and equipment while performing job duties. Successful applicants may be required to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). REGIONAL TRAVEL REQUIRED. POSITION IS LOCATED IN BEAUHARNOIS, QC.
BACKHOE OPERATOR EXPERIENCE PREFERRED. MUST BE A CANADIAN CITIZEN OR ABLE TO OBTAIN CANADIAN WORK PERMITS INCLUDING REQUIRED SOCIAL I.D. NUMBER. ABILITY TO SPEAK/COMPREHEND ENGLISH AND FRENCH LANGUAGES IS REQUIRED
Pay Rate: $17.76/hr Full rate - $15.98/hr Entry Rate

Qualifications:
Must be willing to work in hot or cold weather conditions. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to travel. H.S. diploma or equivalent required. Must pass a basic reading comprehension and mathematics test. All applicants are required to pass both tests prior to receiving further consideration. Valid driver's license is required; CDL a plus. Successful applicants will be required to pass a FRA approved drug test, strength test, and a post-offer medical examination by a CSX company contracted physician.
