Veterinary Technician (Experienced)

As a Veterinary Technician you will act as the extra eyes, ears and hands for the veterinarian to ensure the best quality Pet care for our clients.  You will be an advocate for Pets by educating clients on all aspects of Pet health.

 

You will help maintain the flow of patients by providing professional, efficient and exceptional service. You will have the opportunity to perform procedures that do not require Veterinarian assistance as well as completing preparatory work and monitoring hospitalized or surgical Pets. You will educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventive care, Pet health needs, diagnosis, treatment plans, and hospital services. As a Veterinary Technician, you will obtain and record relevant information and history from clients and maintain proper and complete medical charts.

 

You will also ensure the safety of Pets, clients and team members by utilizing safe restraining techniques, following standard protocols and maintaining clean, sterile and organized treatment areas, exam rooms and labs. You will learn and follow all state guidelines regarding duties of veterinary assistants and licensed veterinary technicians.

 

Please note: No previous veterinary technician experience is required for this entry-level position.  Our on the job training will provide you with the necessary skills.

 

 

Requirements for the position include:

?  High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or currently enrolled.  Associate?s or Bachelor?s degree preferred

?  Certified Vet Tech license preferred

?  Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

?  Must be comfortable around Pets
