Heavy Equipment Operator

? Operate and maintain a variety of heavy equipment in a safe and compliant manner.

? Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment; maintain accurate records.

? At the direction of your supervisors, supervise cell development; complete safe and efficient placement, compaction and covering of incoming refuse; maintain adequate covers so as to stockpile a minimum of three days covering; build and maintain interior roads; oversee laborer/spotters as necessary.

? Provide assistance to other areas of operations when requested or appropriate.

? Follow appropriate standard operating procedures as guideline for operating and maintaining vehicle.

? Report any worker-public safety factors and/or vehicle malfunctions.

? Maintain an awareness of activities and persons on or around the landfill and report unusual activities to a supervisor.

? Follow appropriate lifting and grasping procedures

? Maintain VCR.

? Attend weekly/monthly safety /operations meetings.

? Attend training on work-related topics.
