Recycling Plant Manager

West Valley Fibres, affiliate of Potential Industries, is engaged primarily in the purchase and sale of recycled paper and beverage containers. West Valley Fibres is located in Van Nuys, California.

We are looking for the following in our Van Nuys Plant:


PLANT MANAGER:

Summary:

The Plant Manager is directly responsible and accountable for the entire business, operation and human assets of the facility. The Plant Manager reports to the Regional Manager.

* Overall responsible and accountable for assigned branch?s operations and profitability.
* Maintain and develop business relationships with clients, vendors, and purchasing agents.
* Ensures that the Branch delivers quality customer service for all existing clients, customers, and trade accounts.
* Manage and directs all yard personnel of the plant.
* Works ethically with integrity and delivers quality service.
* Create and act on solutions that add value to the business and satisfy customers and trade accounts.
* Ability to design and implement work flows and operational procedures within plant.
* Responsible in maintaining and achieving yard inventory at acceptable level set forth by the executive management.
* Work closely and directs assigned customer service representatives in maintaining and growing business with waste paper suppliers
* Ability to work closely and effectively with other Plant Managers for operational, inventory, sales, purchasing, manpower and logistics areas.

* Be knowledgeable of and comply with Department of Conservation Division of Recycling Beverage Container regulations.


Qualification and Experience:
1. Excellent knowledge of handling, purchasing, processing of paper materials.
2. At least 3 years of experience in the paper and beverage container recycling industry.
3. Previous Plant Manager or Yard Foreman/Supervisor role.

4. Bi-lingual English and Spanish.
4. Excellent people, customer service skills, and sales experience helpful.
5. Must uphold the organization?s trust, ethics and integrity.
6. Exhibits effective self-confidence, leadership and has the ability to take charge.
7. Ability to make sound decisions and reacts well under pressure.
8. Communicates well (verbal/email).
9. Ability to forecast, create and set objectives on a daily basis.
