Supervisor

Solano Garbage Company,a division of Republic Services, Inc., located in Fairfield CA, has an opening for a Route Supervisor. This position is responsible for hiring, coaching, disciplining, supervising, scheduling and evaluating union truck drivers and laborers; overseeing safety and environmental programs for solid waste disposal and diversion; purchasing supplies, managing purchase order logs and maintaining strong vendor relationships; monitoring productivity and performing associated administrative tasks. Experience in the refuse or trucking industry is preferred, with an ability to promote a strong safety culture within the organization. Knowledge of productivity and/or routing software is desired as is general computer skill including experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Kronos (or other time keeping system).

 

A high school diploma is required, with a college degree preferred. Class "B" license is required as well as two year's supervisory experience. Must be willing to work long hours, weekends and holidays. Good communication skills are a must to insure effective communication with customers, employees, city personnel and cexternal clients.
